Orlagh O’Reilly

Orlagh O'Reilly is an equine professional, researcher and educational programme developer with over 15 years of international experience across the racing industry.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in Equine Management from CAFRE and an MSc in Applied Equine Science from Hartpury University, and has also undertaken postgraduate research at the Royal Veterinary College. Her career has spanned breeding, racing, sales, teaching, education and research across Ireland, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, including roles with Godolphin, Coolmore Stud, Gai Waterhouse Racing, Jim Bolger, Teagasc (Kildalton College) and University College Dublin.

Most recently, she led the development of the Stud Manager Apprenticeship at Teagasc's Kildalton College, a Level 7 bachelor's degree programme, working alongside leading racing and sport horse stakeholders to help shape future education and workforce pathways. She has contributed to research on Thoroughbred performance, behaviour, genetics, conformation, musculoskeletal disorders and epidemiology, with findings disseminated through international scientific conferences and research outputs.

Orlagh is passionate about leadership, education and collaboration, and is committed to supporting the long-term sustainability, development and future success of the racing industry.
